Old World Alluring Roses

I often escape into my dreams….
I see myself somewhere in Italy…..let’s say Florence.
In the most romantic rose garden, under an arbor….this is my chosen studio of the day. I am wearing a silk brocade robe and my hair held up with roses…
A painting, of coral and pale yellow roses…..cascading from a time worn and beloved urn.
This is the piece of my heart I present to you.

Loved As She Is
$350.00
You said you loved her just as she is.It made me think. This is all Rose asks for…..To be loved for who and what she is. Yes, captured through different forms of expression….Different eyes….Different hearts. But never asked to change. And so here she is.Just as she is…(Even though the artist had many more layers in mind…)
Her beauty…..whispered.
Thank you for opening my eyes and calming my heart. I adore you.

Two Tone Surprise
$280.00
One of the first roses I planted in my garden was the Twilight Rose. I love her dark fuchsia petals! One season, after placing her under partial shade because she was not doing very well in the full sun, she developed as a two tone flower! Which brought me even more joy and delight!
Here, I have paired her with a gold clay vase as she sits quietly on the table….as the work of art that she is.

Regal Splendor

“I am a guest at court…..after the most splendid banquet, a night of dancing in our ballgowns, music from the heavens with laughter ringing in the air, as I bid adieu to my hostess, I am met with one of the arrangements which graced and adorned the tables! Mon Dieu! For me?…..”
A beautiful bouquet of Pierre de Ronsard roses in a 1930's french art elegant hand blown art glass of reds and whites, profusely decorated with ormolu mounts to the rim, top and base.
I am the luckiest lady in the land!
And I sigh….as I share my dreams in the form of my paintings, with you.

Roses For Fleur
$420.00
Roses for Princess Fleur Bella Rose.
They had to be pink.
This is a marriage between old world allure and modern day roses. I am imagining an arrangement in the palace of Fleurailles….David Austin roses, Olivia Rose Austin to be precise…..arranged beautifully in a rare and exceptional small pink-ground famille rose moonflask, creation of the Qianlong craftsmen from the mid 1800s. In my dreams, this beautiful arrangement sits on Fleur’s nightstand…..the last thing she sees before she closes her eyes to sleep and the very first when her eyes greet the sun.
I paint to dream…..and share my dreams with you!

Inspired By Frans
$360.00
In the main intro, you may have read about how this collection was inspired by The Impressionists. This rings true for all theses impressionist petite rose paintings. However, inspiration abounds….arriving from many sources. These pink roses in a blue vase and a green background were inspired by a number of paintings by the artists Frans Mortelsman. The combination of a blue vase, pink roses and a green background does something to my heart! I hope it does the same to yours!
