Pleasure from Painting fruits came as such a surprise!
My collectors feel the same way!
It all began when my husband bought me a mini fridge for my roses. He was tired of having me store my roses next to his food!
I put the fridge in my studio and ended up filling he fridge with fruits instead of roses….the roses remained in the main fridge much to his frustration!
My first lessons in oil were of fruits, but I became an oil painter because I wanted to paint roses and women in the most beautiful gowns.
This little fridge filled with fruits was an invitation to revisit past lessons and I became instantly enamored with painting fruits.
There is a certain sensuality that fruits embody and evoke. Very different from women and roses. It is almost intoxicating and yet, completely innocent at the same time, presenting a beautiful, paradoxical invitation.
