“Art is our memory of love. The most an artist can do through their work is say, let me show you what I have seen, what I have loved and perhaps you will see it and love it too.”
Annie Bevan
It all began with my love affair with haute Couture….
I longed to experience the gowns, the works of art I saw coming down the runway, even though I was a fashion designer, I didn’t want to recreate the designs to wear, I wanted to experience them in their purest form. I didn’t have access to these gowns and so I decided to paint them.
I paint my dreams of elegance and old world glamour
It has been a journey of evolution. Beginning with quite abstract fashion illustrations…..now, softer, more realistic, more feminine, more romantic expressions of women in the most exquisite ensembles.
And then there were roses…..who have always been my loves.
After leaving the wedding industry, I needed an excuse to have roses in my life till my dying day! I played around with being a floral designer, but it just was not for me. After studying portrait photography, I realized that I photographing roses the way I photograph women was the answer.
finally, I encountered oil painting like the old masters….I knew I would never be the same again.
All of these adventures led me to create my different worlds!
A world for pink Princesses, another inspired by 1950’s Parisian elegance, a world of rose portrait in oil, rose portraits in photography, a whimsical world inspired by flowers and so much more!
Discover each world by clicking on the individual works of art below.
And if you should happen to have a favorite, I would be delighted to know!
